small black raisons
possible to replace with unsweetened cranberries (Vata - Pitta - Kapha 0)

sliced almonds
roasted until golden (Vata - - Pitta - - Kapha +)
Juice from 1/2 a lemon + some lemon zest

Instructions
Cook the barley in 1.5 cups of water, until water is absorbed and the barley is soft.
Mix in a bowl the cooked barley with the rest of the ingredients, season to taste and serve.
Notes
Optional additions: For Kapha: replace the almonds with pumpkin seeds.
