Action: moistens the tissues, dilutes concentration, dissolves and liquefies, promotes salivation, compassion and cohesiveness.
Liquid is wet but it also means less concentrated, diluted. Water is liquid, diluted. But if you keep adding salt to water to the stage that the salt stops dissolving, the water becomes highly concentrated with salt and dense.
Liquid quality causes increased secretions in the tissues. In general, sour and salty foods cause increased secretions. Sweet and oily foods also increase wetness in the body. Examples are limes, yogurt, ghee, Sugar.
