The recommended diet is pungent, bitter,dry, light and warm. This type of diet is of a reducing nature and is suitable for strong individuls.

Cooking method: baking, steaming, cooking with a little water, soup

Grains: barley, millet, buckwheat, basmati brown rice

Legumes: adzuki beans, white beans, green or brown lentils, green mung beans

Cooked vegetables: radish (big or small), turnip, daikon radish, celery root, parsley root, potato, Jerusalem artichoke, cauliflower, cabbage, broccoli, kohlrabi, pumpkin, chard

Fresh vegetables: radish (small), parsley, dill, green onion, chives, rocket, mustard leaves, small green spicy and bitter leaves

Animal: chicken breast

Oils: mustard oil, sunflower oil

Seeds: Pumpkin seeds

Condiments: cardamom,  cinnamon, cumin, black pepper, bay leaves, cloves, long pepper, ajuwan, mustard seeds, fresh and dry ginger, turmeric, horseradish, wasabi, thyme, hyssop, oregano, basil, rosemary, Sage.

Fruit: baked apples and pears

Drinks: lotus drink, barley drink, yano coffee, sage infusion, ginger cinnamon tea, tulsi tea, daikon juice, basil juice

Single herbs: Long pepper, old honey that has not been heated

Lifestyle: Early awakening, tongue scraping, breathing exercises (pranayama), more movement and exercise during the day.

Best avoid: milk, dairy products, delicacies, cheeses, yoghurt, nuts of all kinds, tahini, almonds, too much oil, flours (bread, pasta, pastries, and cakes), tropical fruits, citrus fruits, tomatoes.

Examples of drying foods:

White bean stew, root of parsley and turmeric

Millet patties with white roots

Lentil soup and Higiki

Soup of green mung beans and millet

Home remedies for wet cough:

Prepare ginger juice (1/2 teaspoon), add 3 teaspoons of honey and mix. Eat 1 teaspoon of the mixture 3 times a day.

Chop onion into small cubes and place in a jar, cover the onion with honey and wait for 1-4 hours. Sift the onion and eat a teaspoon of honey every hour.

4 parts garlic powder + 1 part black pepper + 1 part long pepper + 1 part dry ginger powder, add some honey and mix until all the powder is absorbed in the honey. Take twice a day.

Mix a quarter teaspoon of black pepper with a teaspoon of honey, take after food 2-3 times a day for 3-5 days.

Tea made from half a teaspoon of ginger powder, a pinch of clove powder and a pinch of cinnamon powder, brew in a glass of boiling water, mix well and wait until the powder sinks. Drink hot.

Mix half teaspoon ground mustard seeds and half teaspoon dried ginger powder with a teaspoon of honey. Use 2-3 a day.

Mix half a teaspoon bay leaves powder with half a teaspoon of long pepper, mix with honey, use 2-3 a day.

Drink Tulsi tea 3-4 times a day

Local massage:

Massage the chest and back with warm aromatic oil mixed in base oil, from the bottom of the ribs towards the neck.

Aromatic oils suitable for wet cough: eucalyptus, lemoneucalyptus, myrtle, neroli, ravensara, black pepper, anise, fennel, thyme, cinnamon.

Mix 2-3 drops of aromatic oil with a tablespoon of base oil (mustard, almond, olive, sesame) and massage the chest and back with upward movements.
